upcoming birthday and other things

illusion_is_mine The biggest event I have coming up is my 30th birthday. I'm not looking forward to turning 30 for obvious reasons (can I stay 29 forever please!) I recently had an eye doctor's appointment, and got new glasses. When I was getting fitted for my new frames the lady asked me what I was doing for my birthday. So I replied "Umm...I'm not sure. I don't know yet." Honestly, I'm really not sure what I want to do for my birthday. My friend's birthday is next month along with my own. I sent her text asking if she wanted to get together and do something since both of our birthday's are this month. She hasn't replied yet, and she's been pretty busy lately but hopefully we can get together.
Did anyone hear about what happened in Baltimore? It's just awful. It feels like this country is becoming a police state slowly, but surely. I've had bad experiences with law enforcement, and this whole situation just makes me feel weary. Also I wish people would realize that black lives are far more important than property which can be rebuilt.
I've been buying a lot of music lately. This made me realize that I need a new media cabinet to put my CD's/DVD's in because both my CD rack, and my DVD holder are completely full. Not to mention I have a stack of older CDs tucked away in a corner because they won't fit at all in my CD rack I have now. I've been pricing some, but I've still yet to find one I like.
My dad's birthday was Sunday so my mom decided to just spend the evening at home, and make him a nice steak dinner. I stopped at the local store and got him a card, and put some money in it. There was a guy in front of me at the store just being generally annoying, and demanding towards the cashier, but in situations like that I just try to avoid eye contact with people like that. I don't want them going off on me because of whatever reason. My dad was very happy with the card. My mom told me the next day that it was the first time he'd smiled all day when he saw my card. That made me feel good.

I was browsing facebook and I saw a post by Chelsea Wolfe stating she's releasing a new album in August. She's someone I've been listening to for a little while. I decided to check out the album trailer, and it turns out she recorded the album in Dallas. I was surprised because I've always thought of Dallas as being pretty boring since I live not too far from it. I guess Dallas isn't so bad after all XD! Anyway here's the trailer for her new album "Abyss."
