Since I'm not sure if i'll be tied up with family tomorrow or not I wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate it.

I got a little bit of Christmas shopping done today with my mom. I bought my cousin's 2 sons Avengers action figures that I'm sure they'll love, my friend some really cute Pikachu socks that were on sale, as well as my friend's mom some Harry Potter socks since I remembered she was a huge fan. I also bought myself a few things. I found the cutest Pokemon tank top, and some really cute Pikachu slippers. I also bought a Darth Vader beanie that was only $3 which was a steal. I'll have to take pictures when I get the chance.

I finally got the check from that Insurance company, and it was what I did a little bit of my Christmas shopping with. I'm just glad to get a few gifts out of the way. It feels good.

As for other things I've been really stressed about the political climate around here lately. I decided to deactivate my Facebook page for a week or so because a lot of stuff people post on there triggered my anxiety quite a bit. I'm just so tired of all the depressing news everywhere about Trump's election, and all the horrible hate crimes that have been happening. Since it's the holidays I figured it would be best for me to take a break from the news, Facebook, and anything else that triggers my anxiety for a while. My blood pressure was actually up yesterday because I was stressing so much about political stuff. I've also been having some annoying side effects from my blood pressure medication. Mainly lots of sweating, rapid heart beat, and just feeling exhausted. If it doesn't improve I'll notify my doctor about the side effects. I'll probably tell her anyway since I have an appointment on the 7th of December.

Aside from that I've been doing good. I've been catching up on reading Red Rising, Game of Thrones, and other books. I've been also re-watching "Record of Lodoss War", "Kino's Journey", and a few other random anime titles. I watched a movie on Netflix last night called "Hush" due to a friend's recommendation, and it was really good.

I helped my mom make an apple pie earlier today for tomorrow. It turned out pretty good! I also helped her with some of her other cooking she had to do. Anyway I think I'm going to go do some reading. I hope everyone enjoys the holiday. :)

I really, really feel you about polics + social media. Right after the election I was basically living on social media and news sites, but it just got to be too much. Trying not to check FB right now, and actually unfollowed some the political twitter accounts I followed on election day. It's good to stay informed, but god, social media is just too intense. I dunno how people deal.

Yeah, it's been crazy lately with everything that's been going on. I've honestly just been trying to not think about it to keep myself sane.

I wonder of maybe some of your psych meds could be interacting with the BP med? I started seeing a new PCP and I think I'm going to ask him to reevaluate my meds because ever since I've been bumping my psych meds up my BP has been higher. I know you said you were bumping yours up, so I figured I'd mention it.

Apple Pie sounds amazing. I wish I had the patience to make pies and cakes again. Store bought ones are never as good.

Nope, it's not you. It's just me avoiding the news on TV, and mostly facebook. I have a lot friends on facebook that keep talking about it, and one of them posted the video of some dude giving a speech and doing the nazi salute. After seeing that I just got really frustrated, and anxious and decided to deactivate my facebook for a little while. That video is really what triggered my anxiety. It's just appalling that these people are being so out in the open with their hatred. The fallout from this election has been insane.

The apple pie turned out really good! My mom is always trying out new recipes for things.

Yeah I know what video you're talking about I think. The one where a fancy hotel had rent out the place to right wingers and it turned into a nazi party? I didn't even watch it, I was too afraid too. Nazi's scare the shit out of me. I agree it was panic/anxiety triggering, and I only saw the nazi salute photos. The crazy thing about the fallout is it's already spreading to places outside the US. I know I've seen some comments here and there that in Canada they've been tagging places with swastikas and racial hate speech. I'm really scared for when he does get in. I keep hoping that given all the info that's come out they'll do a recount, but I feel racism & misogyny will let all that shit just slide.

Was it a simple recipe? I'd like to make more sweets, not that I need to but ...I mean, sweets. Pies especially are my least favorite to make. Mostly because my favorites are kind of tricky to make (ie Lemon Meringue)

I knew these people were still around, but it seems like after Trumps election they feel validated for spewing their BS on public platforms now. It's frightening.

I feel like I should have realized shit would go down if he was president. When the RNC was in town this summer there were KKK people and Neo Nazi's protesting against the liberals and Clinton, and there to support the racist cheeto. The sad thing is the media glossed over it, and made it seem like nothing. In hindsight some of the comments were super shitty. Like people saying they didn't realize Cleveland had nice things and culture. Thinking about how racist these people are now it feels like them basically saying for a place filled with black people and POC it's better than what we expected. Maybe I'm reading into it too much now, but knowing these people made him the President makes me second guess their meanings behind the praise. And it's sad too because they had to fix up a lot of stuff and pour in more money than what we got back (from tourism, etc) because the RNC chair people thought the city was not good enough as is.

I'm also scared of the heyday these racist will have when he gets in.
