So I guess this will be a review of the concert. My niece and I ended up getting there around 6:30-ish mainly because we wanted to eat before. That actually didn’t work out because the restaurant we went to, despite it being close to the venue, had very slow waiters and we had to finally tell them to just bring us the ticket because we had somewhere to be right after they brought out our food. Needless to say we made it there around 6:30, and people were lined up at the door. We got our wristbands, and headed into the venue.

The first band that played…well we had no idea who they were. They seemed fun though…lol. The singer proceeded to put on a random blue wig during the middle of their set, lol. They seemed like a fun band even though we came in on the end of their set.The next band was called Cilver [youtube] I believe. Anyway they were really really good, and the ended up winning over the crowd. They had some really good songs. I made it a point to check them out after hearing their live set. The best part was the singer crowd surfed into the audience. It was pretty random because I remember she mentioned something about the audience helping her get through the crowd but I didn’t expect her to jump into the crowd…lol. I think they were one of the most fun bands out of all the opening acts. They really did interact with the crowd a lot.

The band that came after them was Eyes Set To Kill [youtube]. This was a band I had heard of briefly since I used to dabble in a bit of post-hardcore back when I was younger. When I’d listened to them in the past they had a different vocalist, so needless to say I was interested in seeing what they sounded like now. They were really fucking loud! Like seriously, when they started playing it felt like the floor was shaking…lol. They really didn’t interact with the crowd a lot which was very disappointing. The bassist just flat out turned her back to the audience while she was playing so I don’t know what that was all about. The singer/guitarist was decent. Her guitar playing was really good although I’m not so sure about her singing…lol. She probably interacted with the audience the most since I suppose she was the singer.

Then finally the band I came to see took the stage Lacuna Coil [youtubeand they were great! It was surreal to see this band I’d listened to for years but never seen live. They really do put on a fantastic live show, and all the band members interacted with the audience. Christina, and Andrea both had great stage presence. I had a pretty good view of Andrea and Christina since we stood somewhere in the middle so that was awesome. For a band that just lost 2 band members recently, due to them retiring, it seems like they’re still on top of their game, and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I especially liked her MC right before they played “Nothing Stands In Our Way.” She mentioned the song was about the band going through hard times, and that despite that nothing would stand in there way or something to that effect. Anyway they were great, and I would love to see them on their own headlining tour in the future. I was surprised to learn that they weren’t the headlining act. I mean they’re a pretty well known band, and most of the people left after their performance so I just assumed they were, but it turns out Sick Puppies was the headlining act. We didn’t stay for their set because of how cold it was, and I’d told my niece before the show that we could leave after Lacuna Coil’s set.

To the best of my knowledge here's the setlist for the songs they played. They might be out of order, and honestly I'm going by memory so I can't remember exactly if I'm missing any songs or not.
I found the setlist online here so I updated it.  I had no idea they played 10 songs!  I guess it all goes by so fast when your rocking out...lol.

Trip The Darkness
Kill The Light
Intoxicated
Fragments of Faith
Die & Rise
I Don't Believe In Tomorrow
Spellbound
Upsidedown
Nothing Stands In Our Way
Our Truth

Seriously though it was freezing, and I had no idea the show would be outside until we got there. I think the temperature dropped to 30 degrees or something, plus it was raining which didn’t help. Apparently where I was standing there was a hole in the rubber tent thing that they had over us so I had to take off my glasses and clean the water off of them. I eventually just took my glasses off because it was getting annoying…lol. Anyway the show was great, and I want to see Lacuna Coil on a headlining tour! Those guys were great just like I knew they would be. :D

I doubt anyone is going to give a crap about this or read this TL:DR post but I made it to remember what I could from the concert. ^^

About

I'm a 32 year old woman. I'm an artist, and I'm into the Gothic subculture. Things that I enjoy include but are not limited to 80's Music, Reading, Drawing, Animation, Playing bass guitar, Gothic rock, indie music, horror films, anime, comics, video games, and sci-fi novels. I don't know what I'd do without music, and art. I listen to Siouxsie and the Banshees way more than I should.
