I figured I would make this post about music since the last post was about my weekend.  The new Lacuna Coil album “Broken Crown Halo” dropped yesterday, and to my surprise I actually had access to a digital copy of the album because I’d purchased the physical CD on amazon.  I really love the album!  Christina Scabbia’s voice just keeps getting better and better.  I would go out on a limb and say this is the best album I’ve heard from them since Comalies.  “Zombies”, “Cybersleep”, “Victims”, and “I Burn In You” are already some instant favorites from the album.  I heard them play “Nothing Stands In Our Way” live during the tour, and it sounds great live despite it not being one of my favorites off the album.

I also listened to Chevelle's newest album and I absolutely love it!  It's been a long time since I've heard anything that good from these guys.  They usually put out good music don't get me wrong, but the new one is the best thing I've heard from them in years.  It's good to see lots of good rock, and metal releases coming out lately.  I was getting tired of all the mediocre pop music tbh.

In terms of other music I've been listening to a bit of classic heavy metal, Gothic metal, an symphonic metal which is usually what I enjoy listening to these days.  I've also been listening to a little bit of 2-tone Ska music which is random, but sometimes I'm in the mood for it.  It is the music that made me want to play bass after all.

Anyway here are some tunes I've been digging currently.

New Chevelle track from their newest album.  This is pretty good stuff.  They always gave me a Tool-esque sort of vibe with their music and I'm not complaining at all.  I think they've developed their own sound pretty nicely.

This is one of my favorites from Lacuna Coil's new album "Broken Crown Halo."  Jeez Christina...keep slaying us with your awesome voice why don't you.  I never get tired of this woman's voice.

The video for this Delain song is pretty cheesy, but I fucking love the song. :)

Who needs the Arctic Monkeys when you've got The Horrors.  I'm so tired of hearing about the Arctic Monkeys so much lately so please excuse my ranting.

About

I'm a 32 year old woman. I'm an artist, and I'm into the Gothic subculture. Things that I enjoy include but are not limited to 80's Music, Reading, Drawing, Animation, Playing bass guitar, Gothic rock, indie music, horror films, anime, comics, video games, and sci-fi novels. I don't know what I'd do without music, and art. I listen to Siouxsie and the Banshees way more than I should.
