I know it's been a little while since I've updated, but I'll do better I promise!  I've been so exhausted this past week.  Hell, when I came home from work on Friday as soon as I laid down I fell asleep at around 6pm and didn't wake up until the next day.  I was exhausted and apparently my body was trying to tell me I was.  I've been meaning to update earlier this week, but I've been so tired lately for some reason.

I will start this entry by mentioning that I am a proud owner of a Sony record player.  I acquired it by one of the supervisors at my job when he told me he was selling his old record player at a really cheap price.  He told me it was in good condition, and that he’d only played a few records on it.  We ended up talking about albums because he noticed my Joy Division shirt, and asked me about their music.

I got it around sometime last week, after a few minor issues (mainly to do with me fighting with old technology and loosing xD!)  I finally got it set up and running.  As of now I don’t really have a record collection to speak of.  I bought an album years ago that was a split album with Envy, and Thursday that had never been played until recently.  I used it to test the sound, and it sounds great!  Listening to music on vinyl really is the best way to go.  It can be really expensive to have a decent setup as far as speakers, receivers, and what not.  Also if it’s an older model that doesn't have a pre-amp with a phono setup it will be a lot more work to setup everything.

Anyway I got the thing set up, and I just bought “Kaleidoscope” by Siouxsie & the Banshees earlier today, and I was pleased to find that it was an original 1980’s pressing from Polydor which is a huge plus. Another thing about switching to vinyl is it’s way more expensive to buy vinyl records.  The plus is that it sounds better than anything digital, or on CD because it’s analog so the audio doesn't get compressed.  You get the full effect of how the original recording was supposed to sound.  Since I’m a bit of an audiophile this is right up my alley.

I plan on going record this week to find some possibly cheap used records that might be something I would enjoy.   I need more records because I only have one (well 2 if you add the Banshees album I just ordered.)   It’s driving me mad because I want more albums asap.  Also I’m one of those people that wants to buy stuff because it looks cool which is silly, but whatever.  Like this pretty vinyl for Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart.”

I’m going to another concert this month around the 22nd.  I’m going to see Lacuna Coil again on their own headlining tour.  I’m looking forward to it a lot since I enjoyed them on the tour they were on with Sick Puppies, and Cliver.  It will be at a local club that isn't too far from my sister's apartment.  I'm currently trying to find someone to go to the concert with.  This is usually the issue with me going to concerts, because not too many people I know listen to rock, let alone metal.  I do have one person I'm going to ask, and hopefully she'll be able to go.

As far as music goes I’ve been listening to a bunch of different stuff.  Too many things to name to be honest...lol.  Just check out my last.fm page.

I also forgot to mention my birthday is coming up this month.  To be honest I've been trying not to think about it because I'll be 29 *shudders*.  I still have no idea what I'm going to do for my birthday other than dragging some poor unfortunate soul to this concert with me if it's the last thing I do.  I will not be spending my vacation from work, and my birthday doing nothing.  I refuse *shakes fist*

About

I'm a 32 year old woman. I'm an artist, and I'm into the Gothic subculture. Things that I enjoy include but are not limited to 80's Music, Reading, Drawing, Animation, Playing bass guitar, Gothic rock, indie music, horror films, anime, comics, video games, and sci-fi novels. I don't know what I'd do without music, and art. I listen to Siouxsie and the Banshees way more than I should.
