In the soil of our sadness

I will start by saying that my rash is finally starting to go away! I'm so glad because I was afraid it was something really serious, and the doctors had no idea what it was. I've been feeling a lot better knowing that it's finally going away.
The holidays are fast approaching, and I'm really looking forward to them this year. My cousin's new baby came into the family this year, and attached herself to me I've really enjoyed having her around. I also usually think about my sister around this time of year because Christmas was her favorite holiday. That sort of makes me depressed because she's not here, but I'm just thankful the family that I have here with me. I've seen so much death, and misery throughout my life that it made me realize that I shouldn't take things for granted, and be thankful for the time I have with people while they're here. I didn't really mean to get too deep in this post, but it's just something that I've been thinking about lately. I guess since I'm getting closer to 30 I'm really thinking about things like that more.
The other day I ordered a pizza, and when the pizza guy arrived I went to answer the door. He seemed pretty enthusiastic, and I realized that he was flirting with me. Now I'll have you all know that I'm pretty oblivious to someone flirting with me until after the fact...lol. I'm not good at that sort of thing at all. I'm usually surprised when someone is giving me any sort of attention to be honest. I'm not hideous or anything, but I'm really self-conscious.
Anyways I've been listening to, and buying a lot of music lately. I'm sort of old fashioned when it comes to music in that I really like buying CD's and having the physical albums. Now mind you I don't buy everything, but with groups I tend to really love I try to buy their music. I just recently bought the remastered version of Siouxsie & the Banshees "Peepshow" album, and it sounds pretty good. I ended up buying "Superstition", and "The Rapture" remasters on iTunes yesterday. The remastered version of "The Rapture" sounds fantastic! I'm so glad they remastered it because it has some of my favorite later Banshees material on it. As you've noticed they're pretty much my favorite band these days. I have 3 of their albums on vinyl, and 4 on CD as well as a couple as digital copies. I love how musically diverse their discography is. Not to mention they had one of the best front-women form the early punk movement, as well as some of the best guitarist from the post-punk era (John Mcgeoch, and John Mckay.) Their bass player Steven Severin was also pretty amazing as well. He and Siouxsie were the main songwriters for the band, and his bass playing was really unique to anything else I'd ever listened to before. Here's a live performance from the 80's by them.
Playing this song on bass by the way is really fun actually. He has such a unique playing style that's really different from a lot of bass players I've heard.
Another band I've been loving at the moment is The Birthday Massacre. They recently released a new album called "Superstition" this year, and it's really good! I wouldn't say it's their best album, but it has some really great tracks on it. Here's a link to their new video from one of the new songs off the album.
