Wow, I haven't posted in a while. My Easter holiday turned out better than I expected it to. My brother, his girlfriend, and their son came along with many of my immediate family. My brother's son is a brat, and he spit on me for no apparent reason. The kid is a little demon I tell you. I think it's because they don't discipline him unless he causes so much trouble that they have to. They just let him do whatever. My sister saw him spit on me and couldn't believe it. I didn't do anything to him (even though I really really wanted to.) They immediately left after that...lol.

My brother's girlfriend showed me a video from the MAMA Awards of a performance with Bobby, The Quiett, Dok2 and someone else whom I can't remember at the moment. When I named off all the rappers as they appeared on the screen she was pretty shocked. I informed her that I do listen to a bit of Korean rap/hip-hop. She didn't know that it was Korean rap, so I gave her a bit of background on how I got into it. Speaking of Korean Rap Epik High is coming to my city!   The tickets go on sale this week, and I'm defiantly going. No one is going to keep me from seeing Epik High in concert.  Well apparently they announced the ticket prices, and yeah I won't be going.  $80 is waaaay to much for general admission tickets.  My friend and I will probably just catch a movie or something.

You may be a lover but you ain't no fuckin' dancer.... )
I forgot it was tomorrow, but the Type O Negative facebook page posted it on their page.  It's been 5 years since the passing of Peter Steele.  R.I.P. Green man.

I will start by saying that my rash is finally starting to go away!  I'm so glad because I was afraid it was something really serious, and the doctors had no idea what it was.  I've been feeling a lot better knowing that it's finally going away.

The holidays are fast approaching, and I'm really looking forward to them this year.  My cousin's new baby came into the family this year, and attached herself to me I've really enjoyed having her around.  I also usually think about my sister around this time of year because Christmas was her favorite holiday.  That sort of makes me depressed because she's not here, but I'm just thankful the family that I have here with me.  I've seen so much death, and misery throughout my life that it made me realize that I shouldn't take things for granted, and be thankful for the time I have with people while they're here.   I didn't really mean to get too deep in this post, but it's just something that I've been thinking about lately.  I guess since I'm getting closer to 30 I'm really thinking about things like that more.

The other day I ordered a pizza, and when the pizza guy arrived I went to answer the door.  He seemed pretty enthusiastic, and I realized that he was flirting with me.  Now I'll have you all know that I'm pretty oblivious to someone flirting with me until after the fact...lol.  I'm not good at that sort of thing at all.  I'm usually surprised when someone is giving me any sort of attention to be honest.  I'm not hideous or anything, but I'm really self-conscious.

Another band I've been loving at the moment is The Birthday Massacre.  They recently released a new album called "Superstition" this year, and it's really good!  I wouldn't say it's their best album, but it has some really great tracks on it.  Here's a link to their new video from one of the new songs off the album.

 Hey guys!

As promised in the previous post I'm posting pics of albums in my record collection.  The most recent album is the Joy Division "Unknown Pleasures" remastered edition that came out last year.  In my opinion it doesn't get any better than listening to music on vinyl.  Only then do you get the full experience that the artist wanted you to hear when they recorded it in the studio.  I will say some remastered albums are hit or miss, but for the most part the one's I own sound pretty good.  Considering when some of these albums came out I think some of them needed remastering (ei: Unknown Pleasures for example.)

I will mention that all my Siouxsie And The Banshees albums are the recordings from the 80's.  The singles being a UK pressing, and the others are US pressings that came out in the 80's.  I guess my favorite record to listen to would be "Kaleidoscope" by far.  They really changed the face of post-punk, and gothic rock when they made that record,  It's also the record that showed a dramatic change in their style up until that point.  I found "Tinderbox" on ebay from someone who was selling it from their own collection, and for a decent price no less.  Anyone who collects vinyl will tell you it's a really expensive hobby, and it is.  Ebay, used book stores, and vintage shops have become my best friend when it comes to collection vinyl.  I'm still very much new to the vinyl thing, but I really enjoy older music that's not always available on CD so that's why I started collecting vinyl.  Plus having the really nice sleeve art that you can only get with the vinyl releases is something that I've always thought was unique.  I'm still a noob at this record collecting business, and I have a few more albums than these but these are the most recent one's I've added.  If you want to know my favorite out of these then I'll just say I can't choose.  They're all amazing to me in their own way.  Anyway on to the pics. :D

(The Cure: Three Imaginary Boys originally released in 1979 this remastered version from Russia was released in 2010 I believe.)

(Siouxsie and the Banshees: Once Upon A Time/The Singles released in 1981.  This is a UK pressing since it has the Polydor logo on the LP but I'm sure it's like a 2nd pressing or something like that.)

Since last week was my birthday I ended up being busy most of the week.  As I mentioned in the previous post the concert was last Thursday, and it was awesome!  I got to meet Lacuna Coil which was a very pleasant surprise.  It didn't hit me until it was finally my turn to meet the band, and for the most part I couldn't really figure out what to say to them except for the usual "Hi"  lol.

That Sunday we ended up going out to eat at an Italian restaurant for my birthday.  I enjoyed it for the most part, but the food was sort of meh in my opinion.  I decided to go to this place because I wanted to try something different.  My lasagna was pretty good, but  the spaghetti was really bland for the most part.  Overall though I had a good time spending time with family.

That following Wednesday me and Mom ended up going to see "X-Men Days Of The Future Past" in 3D, and when we got in the people actually forgot to give us the 3D Glasses when we paid for our tickets, so we had to go back and get them.  I enjoyed the movie a lot more than I thought I would.  Quicksilver was the highlight of the movie for me.

I'll be attending Akon this Friday with my friend.  I'm looking forward to it!  I don't think I went last year because I didn't want to go alone, and she wasn't able to go.  So this year it should be fun.  It turns out they're having it at a different hotel this time.

Also here's a picture of my autographed Lacuna Coil poster.  I ended up going and getting a poster frame for it since it's autographed and everything.  :)Read more... )

As for music I've been listening to different things.  I got around to checking out Taeyang's newest MV, and while I thought he MV was lackluster I really like the song.  I will just be honest, and say that I honestly like his solo music a lot more than Big Bang's music as a group.  Big Bang's music hasn't really impressed me since "Remember" to be quite honest.  I do pay attention to Taeyang's solo stuff though because I think he's really talented.

As for other music I watched the new B.A.P video, and while I think it's really cute the song does absolutely nothing for me.  I think it's really boring, and generic to be honest.

I've mostly been listening to a lot of other music besides kpop, which is the norm for me these days.  I've mostly been listening to Swans, Plasticzooms, Peter Murphy's newest album, Shores of Null, Wire, Wolves in the Throne Room, X (not X-Japan but the Punk band X), SPK, Winter Severity Index, Animals As Leaders, Deafheaven, Donawhale, and Wild Nothing

Here are a few videos by 2 of my current favorite bands The Damned, and Siouxsie and the Banshees.  The Damned is a punk band that's been around since the late 70's, and they were known for their crazy stage antics, and their front-man Dave Vanian, who dresses like a vampire for most of their performances...lol.  I'm sure your familiar with Siouxsie and the Banshees because I talk about them way too much.  They're just that awesome IMO.
lol these guys are nuts, but at least they knew how to have fun.  :D

Now were gonna dance to a different song  )
