I finally received my pre-ordered copy of Super Mario Odyssey for the Switch this past Friday. I played it a bit, and my cousin showed up with her kids, and I let her sons play 2 player mode with the joycons. They had a complete blast, and actually got further than I did when I was playing it. I called in sick to work today because I'm feeling sick, and under the weather so I decided that I would make a day of playing it today. :)

My dad just informed me this morning that he bought me a blue acoustic guitar for Christmas! I'm pretty excited to get it since I've been lowkey wanting an acoustic guitar since I started playing guitar. It would be perfect to practice on during the day since it's an acoustic. My mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I've been trying to decide. I think I want a decent gaming chair with back support so I could have something comfortable to sit in while I'm playing games or doing whatever.

Halloween is coming up, and I'm excited since I'll be off work this time. I don't really dress up or anything, but I love to have a marathon of horror movies on that day. I also might make a special post of some of my favorite albums to listen to on Halloween since my record collection has grown quite a bit. It will consist of Christian Death, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees to name a few.

Also anyone listened to the new Epik High album yet? It's fantastic, and really reminds me of their old stuff. It's a lot more somber than the last album. I do like it a lot more than Shoebox, and I enjoyed Shoebox quite a bit. I'll probably be picking up a physical copy when I can. Here's a video of one of the songs.( Home is far away... )

Yesterday I had to take my grandmother to the foot doctor. She doesn't usually ask me to take her places so I was more than happy to take her. She was quiet most of the car ride there. My mom mentioned it's probably because she doesn't hear to well, and her hearing gets muffled when riding in the car. When we got there I asked her if she locked the passenger door to the car since I don't have automatic locks, and she's like "What? Huh?" and so I was like "Well, I'm going to check because I don't want anyone stealing my car while we're in here." lol. Other than that is a rather normal, uneventful trip to the doctors office with her.

As for other music I gave the new Epik High album "Shoebox" a listen yesterday and i was pleasantly surprised! It's probably my favorite hip-hop/rap album of 2014. I'm glad to see them return back to their original style on this one. I was afraid that they would go the same route they went on the previous album 99, but they didn't which was really refreshing. Anyway here's one of the videos for the song "Born Hater", which features a lot of awesome rappers and a few YG folks that I'm not too familiar with. I like how each rapper is one of the 7 deadly sins. That makes the video even more appealing.

Other than that I've been listening to tons of Japanese indie music mostly, regular indie rock, as well as a little bit of J-pop. K-pop hasn't really been appealing to me lately with the exception of Vixx, Troy, and a few others. Miliyah Kato did an excellent cover of Utada Hikaru's "Automatic" that really blew me away! I always knew she was a good singer, but she really nailed that song. It's always nice to see current singers paying tribute to legendary singers. She also covered Alicia Keys "Ain't Got You" and nailed it pretty well too. Miliyah is easily becoming one of my favorite Japanese R&B/Pop singers. I think a lot of R&B influenced music really died out Japan for a while, but she really does do that style very well.

Also since I've still being keeping up with the other 4 SS501 members I learned today that Park Jungmin is releasing a mini-album in November under his Romeo character. I loved the previous Romeo stuff so I'm looking forward to it. Anyway who wouldn't want to see this guy doing a vampire concept. He did do dark concepts before a lot of the newer groups caught on to them so I'm always looking forward to whatever he releases. Here's one of the pictures I found on facebook.
